Development Company of the West, LLC has started construction of a 22,300 square foot retail center to be tenanted by Grocery Outlet and Dollar Tree, located at 10721 NE Sandy Blvd in the Parkrose neighborhood of Portland. The project is located adjacent to Parkrose Hardware, which has been a neighborhood landmark for more than 30 years. The new store will open in summer 2016.
Grocery Outlet is the nations largest extreme-value grocery retailer, operating over 230 stores in 6 states with more than $1.5 Billion in sales. Grocery Outlet stores are independently operated by families serving the communities in which they live, with 18 stores in the Portland Metro area.
Dollar Tree is the largest single-price point retailer in the country, operating 5,300 stores in the US, and Canada with annual revenues of $8.6 Billion in 2014. Dollar Tree stores include health and beauty, party, seasonal dcor, housewares, household cleaning supplies, candy, toys, gift bags and wrap, stationery, and craft supplies. Dollar Tree operates 95 stores in Oregon and SW Washington.
