Graham Morris has been selected by the Japan-America Society of Oregon (JASO) to serve as its new executive director. Morris will lead the organization to build upon current business, education and cultural programming, and create new opportunities that best serve the Japan America communities here in Oregon and in Japan.
I am really happy to be working with Graham, said Yoshio Kurosaki, Chair of the Society. He will definitely help JASO to move to a higher level of services.
Graham has extensive experience in a variety of non-profit, economic development and tourism management roles spanning the worlds of sports business and cultural arts, and has spent several years living and working in Japan. For the past six years, he has been leading the Salem Multicultural Institute and their award-winning World Beat Festival.
JASO already has many quality structural components in place for business, education and cultural programming. Its a truly unique mix of components that highlights the importance of the friendship between Japan and the U.S., and how we can work together to further business and cultural community needs here in Oregon.
The mission of the Japan-America Society of Oregon is to promote business and cultural exchange with Japan and to enhance mutual understanding between the U.S. and Japan throughout Oregon and SW Washington. JASO sponsors a variety of business, public affairs, educational, and cultural programming throughout the year for members and the wider community. For more information, call (503) 552-8813.
