Locally owned and family operated, Pike Awning Company announced today that it is celebrating 125 years in business. Pike is the leading awning manufacturer and installer for Oregon and Washington.
The Graap family started A.C. Pike Tent & Awning Company in 1891. Ray Spearing purchased the business in the mid 70’s with his two sons joining the business after college. Today the third generation of Spearing’s are on the team and looking forward to carrying on the family business.
Our original building was located where the Memorial Coliseum sits today.
With so much manufacturing heading overseas and the increasing demand for local American Made Products, Pike has committed to staying true to their product while keeping their eye on new design trends and staying up to date on the latest manufacturing processes.
Pike Awning always strives to minimize their environmental impact and they have worked with Washington County to create recycling processes for non-standard items. They also collect all the fabric scraps to create, reusable shopping bags and anything they are not able to use is offered for free to local craftspeople in an effort to keep it out of the landfill.
