Come join Outreach Representative Glenn Johnson at an informative presentation on hearing loss. Glenn will be available on Tuesday, October 18 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at 4311 NE Tillamook St. in Portland, to present the CapTel Captioned telephone and answer your questions.
Ideal for people with hearing loss, the CapTel Captioned Telephone works like any other telephone with one important addition: it displays captions of every word the caller says throughout the conversation.
CapTel phone users can listen to the caller, and can also read the written captions in the CapTel's bright display window. There are different models available, depending on your needs.
For people who are comfortable with a traditional-style telephone, the CapTel 840i has a large easy-to-read display with built-in answering machine. The CapTel 2400i is for those who prefer touch-screen technology. It has a large colorful display, dial-by-picture capability, built-in answering machine and speakerphone, and is bluetooth compatible. Ideal for people with low vision who have difficulty viewing standard-sized captions, the 880i has extra large font sizes & display options for easy reading. All CapTel Captioned telephones are amplified up to four times louder than a regular phone.
The telephone, captioning service and installation is free for people with verified hearing loss. Receive a free hearing screening at the Open House on October 18 and see if you qualify, or contact Glenn Johnson directly at Glenn.Johnson@oeius.org. With a simple form signed by your doctor or audiologist, you can begin enjoying phone conversations again soon. Standard dial tone and high-speed internet connection required.
CapTel gives telephone users confidence that they won’t miss another word!
