Vigilant, a company dedicated to helping companies in the West solve their most complex employment issues, today announced that it added 47 new members to its roster in 2015, bringing its total membership to 530 clients.
“Outstanding service and innovation have been a cornerstone of our efforts, and we are pleased to see our hard work pay off,” said Vigilant President Derek Glos, who has been leading the member-owned employer association firm since January 2015. “We’re passionate about helping good companies be great employers and are excited to serve the growing number of clients seeking our affordable, practical and responsive legal and safety counsel.”
Among the customers that joined Vigilant in 2015 are: Domaine Serene, makers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines in Dayton, Ore.; Port Townsend Paper Corporation, producers of Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard and specialty products; Specified Fittings, the largest pure pipe fittings fabricator in North America; Munirs Company, a restaurant chain with locations throughout California, and Kaady Car Washes, environmentally-friendly car washes serving Oregon, Washington and California.
In recent years, Vigilant has witnessed increased demand for its core services of employment law, workers’ compensation and safety from companies throughout the western states. In addition, clients have shown interest in new services such as Vigilant Leadership Advantage, an employee leadership development course that emphasizes group learning and on-the-job experience.
Vigilant provides member companies with a dedicated employment law attorney and safety professional who works with each client to intimately understand its objectives and challenges. And unlike law firms that typically charge by the hour or impose a cap on time with an attorney, Vigilant offers unlimited consultation for a flat monthly fee. This allows employers to proactively approach employment challenges before they turn into costly issues.
In addition to the overall value of Vigilant services, new members say they are attracted to the employer association because of the experience and talent of its attorneys and the company’s service ethic, which emphasizes deep relationships and quality of service. “We are very pleased with Vigilant’s practical expertise and responsiveness, especially in the face of the ever-changing employment law landscape,” said Chuck Kaady, Owner of Kaady Car Washes, which joined Vigilant in 2015 as a direct referral. “We highly recommend them.”
“Vigilant was a great fit for our employment law needs in Montana and Washington,” said Jonathan Weintraub, CEO of Specified Fittings. “They help us take a proactive approach to keeping our employees safe and also provide an opportunity to earn refunds on our workers’ compensation premiums in Washington. Since our first engagement, we’ve received personal, responsive and professional service. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
